On September 4, 2025, at the invitation of Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to China, H.E. Mr. Peter Lizak, Wei Yan, President of Home and Abroad News Press, attended the “Constitution Day” event hosted by the Slovak Embassy in China. Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico attended the event and delivered a speech. During the event, President Wei Yan met with the Prime Minister and presented him with a copy of the Home and Abroad News magazine featuring President Xi Jinping and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on its cover. The two engaged in a brief exchange.
当日上午, 国家主席习近平在北京人民大会堂会见斯洛伐克总理菲佐。习近平指出, 中斯两国都曾为世界反法西斯战争胜利付出巨大民族牺牲、做出重大历史贡献。当前世界百年变局加速演进, 国际社会比以往任何时候都更需要团结合作。双方应秉持人类命运共同体理念, 践行真正的多边主义, 推动改革完善全球治理体系, 共同为促进世界和平与发展做出更大贡献。
In that morning, President Xi Jinping met with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Xi noted that both China and Slovakia had made tremendous national sacrifices and significant historical contributions to the victory of the world anti-fascist war. The world is undergoing accelerated changes unseen in a century, and the international community needs unity and cooperation more than ever before. Both sides should uphold the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, practice genuine multilateralism, promote reform and improvement of the global governance system, and jointly make greater contributions to advancing world peace and development.
习近平强调, 中方高度赞赏斯洛伐克坚持对华友好, 愿同斯方密切高层交往, 坚定支持彼此选择的发展道路, 加强治国理政经验交流, 不断深化政治互信。积极推进新能源、基础设施、物流等务实合作, 促进人文交流, 为两国人民带来更多福祉。希望斯方继续为推动中欧关系健康稳定发展发挥积极作用。
Xi Jinping emphasized that China highly appreciates Slovakia's consistent friendship toward China. China is willing to maintain close high-level exchanges with Slovakia, firmly support each other's chosen development paths, strengthen exchanges on governance experience, and continuously deepen political mutual trust. China will actively advance practical cooperation in new energy, infrastructure, logistics, and other areas, promote people-to-people exchanges, and bring more benefits to the peoples of both countries. China hopes Slovakia will continue to play an active role in promoting the healthy and stable development of China-EU relations.

Fico stated that China has made significant contributions to the victory of the global anti-fascist war and the maintenance of world peace. China's successful hosting of the 80th anniversary commemoration of the victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression has conveyed a powerful message to the world that justice will prevail, peace will prevail, and the people will prevail, which is truly admirable. I am honored to have been invited to China to witness this grand event in person. Since establishing a strategic partnership, Slovakia and China have seen rapid and smooth progress in bilateral cooperation. Slovakia attaches great importance to its relations with China and firmly adheres to the One-China policy. We are willing to deepen exchanges on governance experience with China, strengthen cooperation in all fields, further facilitate people-to-people exchanges, and welcome more Chinese enterprises to invest and operate in Slovakia. Slovakia supports the fundamental principles of the global governance initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping and is willing to maintain close communication and coordination with China to make positive efforts in reforming and improving the global governance system.
