At 7:00 PM, the national anthems of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China were played in the venue. A video of President Ilham Aliyev's state visit to China from April 22 to 24, 2025, was repeatedly displayed on the screen. Subsequently, Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov delivered a welcome address. He said: “Today, I extend a warm welcome to every guest joining us at this reception celebrating the Independence Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan.” The Ambassador noted that the friendship between Azerbaijan and China has a long history. President Aliyev's successful state visit to China has opened a new chapter in the development of bilateral relations. Azerbaijan will continue to adhere to the One-China principle, actively participate in Belt and Road Initiative, and promote the continuous advancement of Azerbaijan-China relations for the greater benefit of both peoples. Azerbaijan has rapidly developed into the most politically stable and economically advanced country in the South Caucasus region.

Ambassador Bunyad Huseynov stated that Azerbaijan has consistently prioritized the development of relations with China in its foreign policy, steadfastly adheres to the One-China principle, and firmly supports China's position on issues concerning Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Xinjiang. Azerbaijan supports President Xi Jinping's Belt and Road Initiative and the three global initiatives. We are willing to deepen practical cooperation with China in areas such as economic and trade investment, green energy, local exchanges, cultural tourism, and climate change response. We will strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations.

The friendship between Azerbaijan and China has a long history. The two heads of state held talks in a cordial and friendly atmosphere, highly valuing the achievements in China-Azerbaijan relations over the past 33 years since the establishment of diplomatic ties. They reaffirmed that both countries regard each other as priority, reliable, and mutually beneficial strategic partners.
